Samaritan's Purse

From the Samaritan's Purse website:

"For over 40 years, Samaritan's Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ."

What I love most about Samaritan's Purse is the amazing variety of ways they are making a difference in our world. They are the most diverse charity I know of. I used to think of them as an international non-profit, helping families in third world countries recover from natural disasters. They are. Then I thought of them as the organization that distributes shoeboxes full of toys to millions of kids living in poverty all around the world. They are. Then I found out that Samaritan's Purse started a retreat center for wounded veterans in Alaska, so that military couples can heal and recharge after a difficult deployment. Then in September of last year, we experienced first hand Samaritan's Purse's US disaster response, when they came to help our community clean up after the worst flood in Colorado history. There are so many ways to get involved in the life-changing work of Samaritan's Purse, see my posts below for more info on each.
